'Attack on Titan' Release Date in Japan Coming on Feb. 18 for 6,800 to 12,800 Yen
"Attack on Titan" publisher Koei Tecmo has finally announced the release date of the game — at least in Japan. For the United States and the rest of North America and Europe, gamers will have to stay tuned for updates.
On Monday, Dec. 7, Koei Tecmo announced its new game "Attack on Titan" will be available to gamers in Japan on Feb. 18, 2016, Gematsu has found out. The publisher is currently accepting pre-orders of the game.
Omega Force's "Attack on Titan" will be available for Sony's PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PS Vita. Gamers can get the game in two editions: Standard Edition and Treasure Box Edition.
Aside from the game, the Treasure Box Edition will also offer exclusive items. These include a CD containing the game's official soundtrack, muffler towel or scarf, a download code for exclusive costumes, an "Official Investigation Record Collection," and two sets of tin badges of elite corp members Erin, Mikasa, and Levi.
As to the game's prices, Siliconera reports the PS4 and PS3 Standard Edition will sell for 7,800 yen (about $63), while for the PS Vita, it will cost 6,800 yen (about $55). The Treasure Box Edition, on the other hand, will sell for 12,800 yen (about $100) for the PS4 and PS3 and 11,800 yen (about $95) for the PS Vita.
As mentioned, gamers in the United States and the rest of the West will need to wait for Koei Tecmo to announce the release date. So far, the publisher has only confirmed that "Attack on Titan" will definitely be coming to North America and Europe next year.
"Attack on Titan" is a video game based on the popular anime of the same name. The game will feature 3D Maneuver, which is at play in the video below. Gamers will be able to play as Ymir, Krista Lenz, Annie Leonhart, Bertolt Hoover, and Reiner Braun.
