'Attack on Titan' Season 2 Latest News: Director Teases Season 2 Character Highlights

The sequel to the first season of the anime adaptation of the manga series "Attack on Titan" has always been among the highly anticipated anime releases in recent years. After years of waiting, fans will once again get to watch Hajime Isayama's "Attack on Titan" on the small screen, with the debut of the first episode of its second season scheduled this April.

The premiere of "Attack on Titan" season 2 is only weeks away and Wit Studios has been hard at work making preparations for the launch of the anime sequel. In the past few weeks, the crew behind "Attack on Titan" have appeared in various interviews talking about the second season's impending release.

More recently, director Masashi Koizuka opened up about the highlights that fans can expect from the upcoming season 2 of the anime series. In an interview with ANIPLUS Asia, Koizuka was asked about the kind of highlights that viewers should expect in the upcoming season, but he admitted that he had a hard time choosing.

"I basically think all of it is one big highlight. But there was a three- to four-year gap in the production process. During that time, work was still getting done on the scripts and stuff, but it's not like we kept animating the series and beyond," Koizuka said.

"Meanwhile, the staff have polished their skills, and they're now capable of expressing themselves at a higher level. Whatever I picture as the finished visuals, the staff put out stuff that is far more creative," he added.

When asked about specific character highlights in the next installment of "Attack on Titan," the director easily responded that Krista and Ymir will be the ones that "really shine in Season 2."

In the upcoming second season of "Attack on Titan," Eren Jaeger, after discovering that he is also Titan, uses his new powers to defend humanity from the monsters that threaten their home. Though he managed to defeat the Female Titan, he has no time to celebrate, because a horde of Titans is already approaching Wall Rose, threatening to erase all of humanity as they know it.

The second season of "Attack on Titan" is scheduled to debut on April 1.
