'Attack on Titan' season 2 spoilers: shocking death of character, new titan will appear
Good news for all the fans of the hit Japanese manga series "Attack on Titan." After a wonderful and adventure-filled Season 1 that ended in 2013, the anime series is coming back for its second installment. According to Movie News Guide, director Tetsuro Araki announced that Season 2 of the show will come back in 2016. There's no specific date yet for the series' release but Araki explained during an interview last year the reason for the delay.
He said that the primary cause of the delay is linked to waiting for more manga chapters to arrive. It detailed that the first season of the TV series adaptation covered four story arcs. But even with the delay and quite a long wait, fans are kept entertained via rumors and spoilers found widespread on the internet.
According to a report by Latin Times, the upcoming season will show Commander Erwin Smith losing something very important—his arm! It has not been fully detailed yet on how he will lose it or who will he battle with but most likely, it's with a titan. Eventually, Smith will think of himself as useless and a liability, which is why it will lead him to decide on quitting the squad. The site also revealed that the commander will be leading the rebellion against a king who is discovered to be a bogus member of the royal family. It turns out the Reiss family, which includes Krista Lenz or Historia, is the real heir of the royal crown. But every family has a secret and the Reiss' include the innate ability to shapeshift into a Titan.
Fans will also be following the death of a character. Crossmap revealed that fan-favorite character Levi Ackerman would die in the second season. Sources say that his death is due to saving the Shiganshina trio, Eren Yeager, Armin Arlert and Mikasa Ackerman. There is no confirmation though for this spoiler. Aside from a shocking death, an ape-like titan is said to appear in the series.
