Auto White Balance Feature Coming to Android Version of Google Photos App This Week

In Google's bid to delight fans, it is set to roll out a new update for its Google Photos app. This new update includes the Auto White Balance option, giving images a professional look and feel.

Google announced the arrival of the new feature in a blog post on March 2. "Now, when you open the photo editor in Google Photos and select a look, we'll not only correct exposure and saturation, we'll also automatically correct the white balance in the image. And if you want to tweak it even more, just go into Color and adjust the Warmth and Tint," said Google Photos program manager Tracey Utley.

The new update will first come to the Android version of the Google Photos app before the iOS version. When the update arrives, Android users can open their Google Photos and find the Auto White Balance option, as well as the auto correction exposure and color saturation options.

With the new options, Android users can easily adjust almost all the tones in an image. Regardless of whether the image was taken indoors or outdoors, the Auto White Balance option can do all the necessary adjustments so users can achieve their desired tones.

Aside from the Auto White Balance, the update also comes with dynamic filters that will allow users to enhance images in just a single tap. The advanced editing tools allow users to now modify the color and lighting of images as well as their exposure, saturation and contrast based on the feel that they wish to achieve.

The Auto White Balance feature rounds out Google's auto-adjustment portfolio. Google will roll out this new feature to Android users and on the web this week, and then to iOS. As of now, Google has not yet given a definite date for iOS app users of Google Photos.
