'Avatar 2' News: Director James Cameron Explains Delay of Movie; Reveals Excitement to Work with Sigourney Weaver Again
The highly anticipated sci-fi film "Avatar 2" has been faced with many delays since its production early 2014.
The first installment of the "Avatar" films was released more than five years ago. After gaining much success, fans have been wondering if they will have another chance at witnessing the world of Pandora once again.
With that, it is confirmed that the series has been in production since 2014, under the direction of James Cameron. The director shared the reason behind the delay of "Avatar 2." Cameron explained that it was due to the lack of adequate graphics and technical equipment available to produce his vision for the film.
It was said that the film will be putting focus on the oceans of Pandora, which is an aspect that was not explored much in the previous installment. Because of that, he hopes to make the graphics spectacular to give fans the full ocean exploratory experience.

According to Coming Soon.net, Cameron stated, "We're doing 'Avatar' films now, so we're making up an ocean ecosystem for Pandora. There isn't a direct map between the deep ocean exploration that I've done and the ocean stuff that we're doing in the 'Avatar' films."
Another interesting detail discussed by Cameron was the return of Sigourney Weaver's character. In the previous movie, her character Grace Augustine had died. However, it was confirmed that she will be back. With that, fans are wondering how she will be returning.
While Cameron did not reveal much about how Weaver's character will be returning, he expressed his excitement toward working with Weaver again. They have worked together years before for the project "Aliens." The two have been good friends since then, so he is happy that he will be back in the film.
"Avatar 2" is expected to release on Dec. 25, 2017 worldwide.
