'Avatar 2' Release Date, Plot News: Production Start Date Revealed; Plot to Revolve Around Family
Fans of the hit movie "Avatar" are going to rejoice over the latest news on the highly anticipated sequel. Production will kick off in August and the plot will mostly focus on family.
My Entertainment World has posted that "Avatar 2" will start shooting on Aug. 15 this year. The location is something California residents will surely root for: Manhattan Beach. There is not much known about which stars will shoot in the said location but fans are nonetheless excited to see some of their beloved characters.
Amid delays and other production stops, the team working on the sequel are finally ready to set off. So far, the "Avatar 2" release date of Dec. 21, 2018 has not been moved. However, some fans are worried that the movie may not be ready by then if production will be pushed back to a later date again.
Meanwhile, We Got This Covered sat down with Sam Worthington last month. The actor who plays Jake Sully in the franchise revealed that the plot of the upcoming film will be about family. "The world is bigger than the first one, but essentially, it's a movie about family," Worthington explained.
The actor added that fans will soon discover that "Avatar 2" is "nothing" that they've ever seen in the history of the big screen. Worthington went on to explain that Jake will continue to explore Pandora after the events that went down in the first movie.
The outlet notes that the story in "Avatar" wasn't very impressive. What took the movie to great heights was its technical aspect. Now that Worthington has revealed the plot for the sequel, critics are looking forward to an amazing story that will make a mark in the hearts of viewers.
"Avatar 2" has been in the works for almost a decade. Fans are now expecting to see huge improvements in the sequel. Worthington also revealed that aside from the second film, director James Cameron and the team will also work simultaneously on the succeeding movies in the franchise.
