'Avengers 3' Rumours – What Does The Future Hold For Captain America & Thor?
For some time now, rumours have been doing the rounds that the 'Avengers 3' film, "Infinity Wars II," will see the last of Steve Rogers as Captain America. Some say that a new Captain America will rise and Thor will also meet his end.
Fans of comics know that the Civil War causes a lot of undesirable events and after a time, Captain America dies - at least in the comic books. Plus, comments by the Russo brothers and Kevin Feige have added fuel to these speculations.
The Russo brothers, the directors of "Captain America: Civil War," said "[Bucky] has to get everyone on his side by the end of this movie, because his role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is about to get a lot bigger."
This, some say, points to the rise of a new figure as Captain America and it will most probably be Bucky.
According to Movie Pilot, Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, spoke about the Civil War film and said, "It's very much, in a certain way, the completion of a Captain America trilogy. I think one day you'll look back and watch - 'Captain America: The First Avenger,' 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier,' and 'Captain America: Civil War' - and it'll be one of the most unique and different trilogies ever around a single character."
It is a known fact Chris Evans, who plays Steve Rogers and Captain America, has been signed on for "The Avengers: Infinity War - Part I" and not for Part II.
All these things mean bad news to fans of Steve Rogers.
The other fan favourite who is rumoured to die is Thor. The latest rumours doing the rounds is that Thor will be killed off even before "Infinity War - Part I."
According to another Movie Pilot report, the Thor stand-alone film, "Thor: Ragnarok," is rumoured to have Thor either killed or imprisoned in a unique jail for many years. This should be a good plot point for another Thor to rise and it could be a female this time.
In the comic books, Jane Foster recently took up Thor's hammer. If the makers decide to merge the plotlines of the comic books and the movies, then Chris Hemsworth's character of Thor dies and Jane Foster becomes the new Thor.
The Marvel Universe has many superb characters who are waiting in the wings to come on the big screen. Some of these characters are getting a film of their own in Marvel's Phase 3 and they include Benedict Cumberbatch's "Doctor Strange," Black Panther, to name a few.
The death of old heroes will bring in new heroes and viewers will get to see new worlds and fascinating characters.
