'Avengers: Infinity War' News, Release Date: Marvel Comic Features New 'Infinity War' Logo

"Avengers: Infinity War" is still several months away, but Marvel is already ramping up its efforts to promote the film. This week, the studio has unveiled a new update for the upcoming film: a brand new logo.

Marvel has a long history of tweaking logos, so the new "Avengers: Infinity War" logo shouldn't come as a surprise for fans. Earlier this week, the studio released Marvel Comics' January 2018 solicitations, including the first details on the prelude comic to "Avengers: Infinity War." The contents of the new comic are expected to set the stage for the upcoming film, but what makes the material more interesting is its cover, which does not include any original art.

The current comic cover features the new poster that shows all the major players in the "Avengers: Infinity War," including the Guardians of the Galaxy, Spider-Man, Ant-Man, and Earth's Mightiest Heroes. These characters serve only as a backdrop to the upcoming film's new logo, whose design cleans up the original logo by italicizing and changing its font, giving it a more aesthetic look. There are speculations that the logo featured in the comic is not the final version, but it may get fans closer to what they might actually see in the film when it arrives next year.

The synopsis for the new Marvel comic reads, "When a terrorist puts the Avengers at odds, CAPTAIN AMERICA and THE WINTER SOLDIER go rogue to find him — but IRON MAN isn't far behind. Will the Avengers survive the fallout? Then, find out where Captain America, the Falcon, and the Black Widow are headed next — because the world needs heroes, whether it wants them or not. And get a sneak peek at Tony Stark's brand new armor! Get ready for MARVEL'S THE AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR in part 1 of this special prelude!"

Technically, the comic is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's canon, so it may reveal what happened to most of the main characters following the events in "Captain America: Civil War."

"Avengers: Infinity War" hits theaters on May 4, 2018.
