'Avengers: Infinity War': Chris Evans to Start Shooting Scenes in May

Chris Evans has confirmed that he will start shooting scenes for "Avengers: Infinity War" this May. The movie and the untitled "Avengers 4" are currently filming back-to-back, with cast members shooting their respective scenes one at a time for the past couple of months.

Recently, Evans graced "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" to promote his upcoming film, "Gifted." During the interview, Ellen asked him about his role in "Avengers: Infinity War." While the actor did not go into the details of the highly anticipated "Avengers" sequel, he did confirm that he will start shooting in summer.

"They've been filming since February. I don't start until May. There's so many people involved," he said.

Unlike other superhero movies, "Avengers: Infinity War" will venture into a totally unexplored territory and will feature a star-studded cast, making it impossible to get them all together to shoot at once. And although the movie is logistically crazy for the production team, they are trying their best to make it happen.

Evans' contract with Marvel will be done after the "Avengers 4," and rumor has it that he will finally hang up his shield after the movie. According to the actor, he's open to returning and portraying the role again if Marvel will ask him to.

"After 'Avengers 4,' my contract is done. Talk to Marvel. If we engage further, I'd be open to it. I love the character. It's almost like high school. You certainly always look to senior year, and then, all of a sudden, senior year happens and you're like, 'I don't know if I'm ready to go.' It's tough thinking about not playing the guy," said the actor.

Joining Evans in the "Avengers: Infinity War" cast are Josh Brolin, Chris Hemsworth, Sebastian Stan, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Holland, Chris Pratt, Vin Diesel, Robert Downey Jr. and more.

"Avengers: Infinity War" hits theaters on May 4, 2018.
