'Avengers: Infinity War' Release Date, News: Who Are Confirmed to Join the Fray?

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is going to have its biggest ensemble movie yet in the upcoming "Avengers: Infinity War" in which the ever-powerful Thanos poses an imminent threat to Earth, and it is up to the Avengers, and then help from others, to thwart the impending doom. So who's in the film?

According to Movie News Guide, Chris Evans (Steve Rogers/Captain America), Robert Downey Jr. (Tony Stark/Ironman), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch) and Sebastian Stan (Winter Soldier) have officially confirmed they are among the cast. Paul Bettany (Vision) has not announced his involvement yet, although one can assume he'll be there given the fact that an infinity stone is implanted on his head.

Benedict Cumberbatch, meanwhile, may not have confirmed whether or not he's appearing in the ensemble film, though one can bet that he will. It can be recalled that he is guarding the Time Stone, thus circumstances will bring him close to the skirmish.

Just recently, motion-capture actor Terry Notary, well-known for his work with "Kong: Skull Island," has confirmed his participation in "Avengers: Infinity War" as well. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Notary says, "I'm working with Josh Brolin and three other actors [in Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War], and I'm playing Josh Brolin's right-hand bad guy in the film. I can't say the name of the character or I think Marvel will sever my head, but I apply those same principals of what it means to drop bullshit and just play a character truly evil."

It can also be recalled that Zoe Saldana confirmed the participation of the cast of "Guardians of the Galaxy" in the ensemble film. She told IGN that she's confident their roles will be taken care of, as James Gunn is one of the producers.

Obviously, this is going to be the biggest collection of superheroes yet. "Avengers: Infinity War" fights for Earth on May 4, 2018.
