'Awkward' season 5 episode 3 spoilers and episode 2 recap: The bromance is over
In the upcoming episode of "Awkward" titled "Jenna in Wonderland," the official synopsis reads, Jenna becomes popular, while Matty struggles with being an outcast. In the meantime, Jake goes after a new girl, while Ally hosts a sex toy party.
In the promo for the episode, someone throws something at poor Matty during lunch, while Jenna is being spoken to by some very popular kids. The socialite queen of the school even takes a selfie with her and a popular jock greets her. Jenna's mind is blown by the events.
Jenna has gained popularity since she caused the accident that required classes to be suspended. And while her popularity grows, Matty's, on the other hand, declines rapidly. The tables have turned for both Jenna and Matty. It would be interesting to see how Matty deals with the loss of his popularity.

The second episode began with Jenna as she attempted to do some damage control in the wake of the fight between Jake and Matty. She felt bad that she did not tell Matty that Jake slept with Gabby and she tried to ease the tension by throwing a bucket of water at Jake. She accidentally hit the circuit breaker that caused a school-wide blackout, which resulted in classes getting suspended for the rest of the day.
Everyone suddenly started chanting Jenna's name and they all headed to the beach for a party. Sadie did not join the party because she was with her mother Darlene who tried to reconnect with her.
T and Jenna were searching for some alcohol for the party. Their plan to acquire vodka kept on getting foiled until Jenna's mom offered to purchase the booze for them. Jenna and T ended up missing the beach party.
Jake tried to apologize to Matty, but it did not go over that well. And when Jenna arrived, she offered to bring a drunken Matty home. She looked after the poor boy, while he tried to hit on her a little bit.
