'Bachelor in Paradise' season 2 news, cast, spoilers: The $88,000 payoff for couples to last 2 years
"Bachelor in Paradise" is just one of the many extensions of "The Bachelor," and like all the other shows in the franchise, couples are expected to be engaged at the end. The success rate of staying together afterward has not really been high, but some actually do make it. However, recent news might have given away a different motivation for long-lasting couples to stay together, other than love.
The revelation came from Tanner Tolbert and Jade Roper who became officially engaged in "The Bachelor" season 2 finale. They have certainly been inseparable since the beginning and seemingly going strong. They have attended numerous events together in the past week and seem to be cherishing their new status. Recently, a report might have their perfect image tainted as according to Celebrity Dirty Laundry, the two admitted that if they stayed together for 2 years, $88,000 will be waiting for them.
However, before anyone assumes that this is simply a payoff, the $88,000 is not apparently in form of cash or check, but rather in a Neil Lane engagement ring that the man, in this case Tolbert, used to propose to Roper. Meanwhile, the jeweler, Neil Lane, will be receiving free advertising on the ABC hit matchmaking show being that it is one of the sponsors of the ABC show. The conditions state that if the two do not break up for two years, then they will get to keep the $88,000-worth engagement ring; otherwise, they will have to return the ring to the jeweler.
Furthermore, if the two do decide to televise their wedding, it is said that they will be getting a bonus of an unconfirmed amount, free products, swag, as well as automatically keeping the $88,000 ring, which they can later sell to the highest bidder. Although $88,000 for a ring might seem a lot already, it's actually not as much compared to those used in "The Bachelor" and "The Bachelorette." One of the most expensive rings given in the franchise's history is actually a $150,000 Neil Lane Jewelry engagement ring, which Jeff Holm gave to Emily Maynard in "The Bachelorette." Sadly, the couple had not lasted and ended up splitting before they got to keep the ring.
