Baltimore Ravens Defensive End Brent Urban Suffers Lisfranc Foot Injury, Out Indefinitely

The Baltimore Ravens just can't seem to catch a break this week.

The Ravens are clearly still smarting from the historic 44–7 thrashing they received at the hands of the Jacksonville Jaguars this past Sunday, but it appears that they have suffered another blow and they may have to play without one of their key players for a significant amount of time this season.

During a press conference on Monday, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh confirmed that starting defensive end Brent Urban has sustained a Lisfranc foot sprain and he's going to be out indefinitely. Harbaugh described the injury as a long-term one and it will require surgery.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Urban is expected to see a specialist soon to determine how long he will be out.

Urban went down with the injury in the second quarter of the game at the Wembley Stadium in London. Fans initially thought the injury wasn't serious since he was able to walk off the field on his own, but Urban didn't return to the game.

Based on the diagnosis, observers believe the Ravens will probably place the fourth-year pro on the injured reserve list. He will be the 16th player on injured reserve this season.

With Urban on the shelf, second-year pro Bronson Kaufusi and rookie Chris Wormley should get the chance to play more.

"I'm looking forward to seeing them play. We've got some depth there. That's the good news about that particular situation. We have a lot of depth on our defensive line, and we've been saying that all along. Those guys, it's their turn to step up. We've had a lot of practice this year of guys stepping up, so we're getting good at it now," Harbaugh said of Kaufusi and Wormley, via the Baltimore Sun.

Both players were inactive in Sunday's loss against the Jaguars.
