Baltimore Ravens NFL Trade and Roster Rumors: Danny Woodhead to Miss Four to Six Weeks With Hamstring Injury
Looks like Danny Woodhead is set to miss a considerate amount of time.
Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh has confirmed that Woodhead will be on the shelf for at least four weeks due to a hamstring injury to his left leg. He suffered the injury on the final play of their opening series against the Cincinnati Bengals last Sunday. Woodhead caught three passes for 33 yards, and he had one four-yard carry before he got injured.
As of the moment, the team has yet to decide if they are going to place the running back on the injured reserve list.
Woodhead also suffered a hamstring injury on the same leg during the preseason, but this one was reportedly in a different area.
With the veteran running back on the sidelines, Terrance West and Javorius Allen's workload should increase. Either Jeremy Langford or Alex Collins may be promoted from their practice squad to the active roster as well.
"We've been trying to get them ready more than anything. Those guys have done a really good job of studying the offense and they're healthy guys. Those are two very good options for us, and we'll see by the end of the week where we're at with running back," Harbaugh said.
Harbaugh also didn't rule out bringing in someone from another team.
Interestingly, quarterback Joe Flacco has suggested that wide receiver Michael Campanaro may also be an option for the Ravens.
"Hopefully, we have some guys that can step up and hit some plays. Mike Campanaro is one of those quick little guys that can do stuff on the side," Flacco said, via ESPN.
Well, Campanaro has lined up in the backfield before he became a pro, so this is plausible. But Flacco admitted that Woodhead is going to be hard to replace, and the Ravens will feel his absence in the coming weeks.
