Baltimore Ravens NFL Trade Rumors: Ravens Favorites to Sign Morris Claiborne

The Dallas Cowboys have lost a lot of their free agents since the free agency signing period began. It's sort of like an exodus. The team has already seen Ron Leary, J.J. Wilcox, Barry Church, Jack Crawford, Terrell McClain and Ryan Davis join other teams, and now Morris Claiborne might be the next to leave.

The Baltimore Ravens have been linked with Claiborne for about a week now, and things have gotten serious a few days ago. CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora said the teams that were monitoring the cornerback have practically conceded defeat as they believe he would most likely take the Ravens' offer.

La Canfora also reported that Claiborne wanted to be paid $7.5 million per year, but teams were not interested in paying him that much money. The Ravens' offer is reportedly around five million dollars per year.

The Ravens' secondary is going to look really good on paper if they succeed in signing Claiborne. His health issues are going to scare away some teams, but he is still one of the best cornerbacks in the free agency market. Raven fans probably can't wait to see him sign with the team and play alongside another injury prone cornerback in Jimmy Smith.

"Jimmy Smith and Claiborne on the outsides, with Tavon Young as the nickel cornerback sounds like a pretty good idea to me. With two physically imposing safeties, two aggressive corners and a nickel back that has play-making abilities good things will happen. The Baltimore Ravens secondary has been a weakness for so long. Now it could actually be a strength," Chris Schisler of Ebony Bird said in his report.

According to La Canfora, the Ravens are also interested in bringing Lardarius Webb back on a cheaper contract. If the team can convince him to return they should have a backup safety in case someone goes down with an injury.
