Barbara Walters and The Bachelor: 'Such A Degradation to Women'
Despite working for the ABC network, which produces both "The Bachelor" and "The View," Barbara Walters has said that she has a very low opinion of the television dating show.
"The View" co-host announced during the show, that she found "The Bachelor" distasteful.
"I love ABC, I'm very happily employed," she told her co-hosts. "But I think ["The Bachelor"] is such a degradation to women."
The host explained her confusion about the women's behavior during the show.
"You hear these women say, 'I love you so!' and he turns them down. Why?!"
Walters also appeared to not understand what the hype was about this season's bachelor.
"He's an ordinary guy with bad hair," she said.
Walters is not the only one who has been critical of Ben Flajnik. Wet Paint said Flajnik was "too reserved" to be on the show and "not that hot." Of course Flajnik didn't seem all that reserved during the fantasy suite episode, after he offered every single girl a now-less-special key.
Fans of "The Bachelor" also agree that Flajnik is nothing special.
"He's soooo boring I can't take it!" Erin E. Moffat wrote.
Even Ben admitted on "The Women Tell All" Bachelor episode to coming off a bit boring on television. When asked by the Hollywood Reporter why that was the case, Flajnik didn't offer much of an answer.
"I don't know. It's unfortunate because I've got this kind of laid back, funny, personality, and all the girls kind of stuck up for me, too, which is nice," he said.
"The worst season of the show by far; and Barbara is right when she called Ben an average looking guy with bad hair. I would have added 'with the personality of a rock,' Michael Kays commented on USA Today.
