The first leg was a tight game, but was mired in controversy after City were reduced to 10 men – which ended up being a massive turning point in the game. Barcelona quickly took the lead, and then piled on the misery for City as they scored late on to claim a 2-0 win and put one foot in the Champions League quarterfinals.

In team news, Barcelona have an almost fully strength squad at their disposal. However, for City center-back Matija Nastasic is missing with a knee injury and striker Stevan Jovetic is out with a hamstring injury.

Center-back Joleon Lescott is likely to come in for the suspended Martin Demichelis for the Manchester club.

Manchester City could prove a handful tonight. They have gained a reputation for their attacking threat over the past season, scoring at will in the English Premier League at times. Coming into this match up they have little to lose and could throw caution to the wind and really go after Barcelona.

To go through they basically need three goals to win on aggregate. And even if Barcelona score one, and the game ends 1-3, then City will go through on the away goals rule, so it does not make sense they sit back in tonight's game.

That could make for an intriguing match up. Barcelona will likely try and keep more than two-thirds of the possession and frustrate City. That could lead to City players committing more fouls and even getting players carded. Barcelona will be looking for gaps and to try and get a first and then what probably would be a killer second goal.
