'Bates Motel' Season 5 Episode 4 Spoilers: Alex Searches for a Secure Place; Norman and Madeleine Kiss

The upcoming episode of "Bates Motel" season 5 will see Alex Romero (Nestor Carbonell) trying to look for a safe place after getting shot in the stomach.

The synopsis of the new episode, titled "Hidden," states that Alex will have a hard time searching for a secure place. He has a gunshot wound and will not last long if he does not get treated – fast. Meanwhile, Norman (Freddie Highmore) continues to keep his secrets tightly under wraps and is forced to evaluate his loyalties.

A teaser trailer for the next episode has also been released. It starts out with a seemingly sane Norman ranting about the previous episode's events.

"I don't wanna be getting rid of bodies or have people chained up in my basement or dump people in lakes," he angrily exclaims. "What the hell crawled into your pants?" Norma (Vera Farmiga) replies.

The next scene sees Sheriff Dana Greene (Brooke Smith) informing someone that Alex has escaped their custody. "Has he contacted you?" she asks. Meanwhile, Chick (Ryan Hurst) assures Norman that he is here to help him with everything he needs.

Finally, Norman is shown making out with Madeleine Loomis (Isabelle McNally), the married woman who strongly resembles Norma. But just as things are heating up between them, Norman is startled by the appearance of Norma, who has promised that she will protect Norman no matter what it takes. Madeleine asks Norman if there is anything wrong as he slowly backs away from her.

A flashing scene of a hand wielding a knife is shown, followed by Norman staring at the camera. "I'm sorry, mother. You were right," he says.

Meanwhile, here is a brief recap of the previous episode, titled "Bad Blood."

Norma kept Caleb (Kenny Johnson) in their basement for most of the episode. And while Chick knew that he was there, he did not want to set him free because he wanted to see how everything played out. He has become invested in the Bates family and Norman's psychosis. In the end, though, as Caleb tried to run away, he was hit by a car that Chick was driving and died instantly.

Elsewhere, Alex was able to escape from the police while he was being transferred. However, he was wounded by a kid with a shotgun as he attempted to steal a car.

"Bates Motel" season 5 airs Mondays at 10 p.m. EST on A&E.
