'Batman: Arkham Knight' DLC features GCPD lockdown, game to return to PC version soon
There's always something to look forward to in a "Batman" game—whether it be a new character, a new challenge, or a new DLC pack. And now, fans of the console version finally have their hands on the latest updates of the game, at least for the PS4 and Xbox One.
According to Tech Times, Patch 1.07 was released earlier this week already and carried along an update to the console version of "Batman: Arkham Knight." The update has been intentionally made to allow the console port to be compatible with the DLCs that were slated to arrive Sept. 29. But as the scheduled date arrived, there was another new update available for download, Patch 1.08, that accompanied the new DLC packs.
The action-adventure video game developed by Rocksteady received two new DLC packs which are "GCPD Lockdown" and the "Crime Fighter Challenge Pack #2." International Business Times describes the first pack to be a new story that will happen after the events of the main game. Players will be able to play as Nightwing and he will try to stop Penguin from escaping.
"Crime Fighter Challenge Pack #2," in the meantime, brings new challenge maps for the characters of Batman, Robin, Nightwing, Catwoman and the Batmobile. The official PlayStation Store description of this pack says that it also "allows focused training in Freeflow Combat and Invisible Predator stealth incursion."
Originally, it was thought that the "2008 Tumbler" DLC pack would be released along with "GCPD Lockdown" but it ended up being released earlier on Sept. 22. This pack included the Batmobile from "The Dark Knight" film, which also allows the players to ride on it. The original Arkham Batman skin which is the Arkhan Asylum was also featured.
Aside from the compatibility purpose, the previous patch, Patch 1.07, also brought along Big Head mode. This is another way of playing the game, wherein the heads of characters can get as big as their torso and practically almost as wide as their shoulders. This isn't a first though as this mode has been available already in previous games that Warner Bros. released under the Arkham franchise. The current patch, Patch 1.08, is assumed to provide additional content to the new DLCs. What they are, players are still finding out but there are already some who say it includes new devices for non-DLC alies. The patch also supports the upcoming DLCs scheduled to be released in October.
And to those who are playing the game on PC, Bidness Etc has some good news. The source cited that Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has announced that the PC version of the video game is returning on sale shortly. It will be expected to come back in a few weeks.
