Batman Arkham Origins Season Pass 'It's Going to be a Big Deal' Says Game Producer

Fans of Batman Arkham Origins were upset when the game's developers announced the arrival of an update called, Season Pass, which would allow for more downloadable content for the game, and now the game's producer is speaking out to the backlash.

The main problem people had with Season Pass was that all the downloadable features seemed to be for "cosmetic" extras rather than game content and levels.

For $19.99, players would get the next five DLC packs, saving $10 in the process.

The games producer, Guillaume Voghel, spoke with IGN to set the record straight on the DLC's actual value to the game.

"The costume DLC is going to be available with the Season Pass and it's basically a bonus right?" he explained. "There's going to be a lot of value in that Season Pass. One of the items we can't talk about yet…we'll just wait for the gamers to really see what the entire package contains. It's going to be a big deal."

He did not reveal anymore about the game's DLC's but did say DC was heavily involved in the creation of their games. Also, they will be working to keep the games and the movie franchise separate from each other.

"The Arkham brand is really independent from the movies and that's something I think is at the core of its success; Rocksteady did that really well," he said. "They isolated the game from the movies and the Arkham brand will keep going in that direction if there are other entries down the line. It's really something independent; it's in a world of its own and it's a franchise we want to focus on only through video games."

The aforementioned DLC packs include: Goth by Gaslight and Brightest Day Batman skins, a New Millennium Skins Pack, the Infinite Earths Skins Pack, an Initiation bundle where the gamer plays as Bruce Wayne before he was Batman, and an all-new story campaign according to IGN.

The game comes to the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U, and PC on October 20.
