'Batman: Arkham Origins' to Feature Joker and Scarecrow

The upcoming "Batman: Arkham Origins" game will feature two popular villains from the superheroes' universe.

The two antagonists appear in many of the hit Batman films such as 1989's "Batman," 2005's "Batman Begins," and the 2008 smash "The Dark Knight." These two villains are none other than the Scarecrow and the Joker.

The two additions from Batman's rogue gallery were spotted on a promotional standee. The photo of it was shown to CVG and features The Joker, Scarecrow, Bane and Killer Croc along with the previously confirmed Deathstroke. CVG also claims that Deadshot is featured on the poster.

Joker and Scarecrow appear on the left side of the image and Croc and Bane are closer to the "Arkham Origins" logo.

WB revealed that Batman will go up against eight villains from the comic, which includes Deathstroke and Black Mask. The villains which appeared in the standee could include those eight, and they might only make short appearances in the game.

"Batman: Arkham Origins" is a prequel to the two hit games "Batman: Arkham Asylum" and "Batman: Arkam City." It takes place before the other titles and shows the early days of Batman during some of his first run-ins with these villains that are quite popular in the comics and movies.

All of these villains aside from Deathstroke have appeared in both "Batman: Arkham Asylum" and "Batman: Arkham City."

Both of those games are critically acclaimed with "Batman: Arkham City" earning a perfect score in Game Informer with a 10 out of 10 rating. The Batman universe in both titles is loosely based off the 1990s cartoon "Batman: The Animated Series," and features some of the same voice actors including Mark Hamil and Kevin Conroy.
