'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' News: Will Warner Bros.' Plan of Releasing Movie's Rated-R Version be Boon or Bane?
As of this writing, "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" is already slowly being pulled out from the theaters after almost a month of showing. However, to this date, fans and critics alike still can't help but give their two cents on the movie as some continue to criticize it while others continue promoting and praising it. However, as Warner Bros. is set to release a longer cut of the movie, adding the initially deleted scenes from what is shown in its commercial release, some are only left wondering if showing the Rated-R version of the movie will be boon or bane for Warner Bros. and DC.
Speaking to MTV News, Jesse Eisenberg, who played the role of Lex Luthor in the said film, revealed that, once the extended version of the movie is released, people might understand better the choices that his character made in the movies.
"It's a very complicated mythology that I was able to wrap my head around while we were filming. But I think there were certain editorial choices that I was not aware of that they put in retroactively," Eisenberg said.
While it is true that Eisenberg's portrayal of the role was praised by some people, there were those who were unforgiving with their criticisms on how he breathed life to the role. For some, the movie failed to showcase the reason behind Lex Luthor's choices and actions that enabled him to arrive at a decision of orchestrating the battle between Batman and Superman.
On the whole, "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" was heavily criticized for having a poorly narrated story as its overarching storylines were not presented properly. Now that Warner Bros. is planning to release a longer version of the movie, dismayed fans can only hope that the added scenes will not only make sense of Eisenberg's portrayal of his role but will also improve the narrative of the movie in general.
