'Batman vs Superman' News, Update: Two Main Characters Each Get a Trailer?

A recent rumor emerged this week saying that there will be two promo trailers for each of the main superheroes that are to be featured in the upcoming Warner Bros. big screen offering "Batman vs. Superman: The Dawn of Justice."

These details from Heroic Hollywood was picked up by several media outlets including Screen Rant who said that two one-minute long television trailers will be shown by the studio on October 26, Monday night.

The first would focus on Ben Affleck's old and worn-down Batman and the other would feature Henry Cavill's Man of Steel.

According to the site, the Superman trailer will run during the series premiere of CBS' forthcoming series, "Supergirl," which stars Melissa Benoist as Kara Zol-el. The Batman teaser, on the other hand, is slated to kick off on Fox's Dark Knight origin story drama, "Gotham."

Following the separate airings, a new full-length trailer for "Dawn of Justice" will be shown in front of the Sylvester Stallone-produced "Rocky" spin-off, "Creed;" the 2015 Daniel Craig-led James Bond film, "Spectre;" and Jennifer Lawrence's "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2."

HH however noted that this information should be taken with a grain of salt as it still wasn't officially confirmed by anyone in Warner Bros.

Dropping off their take on the issue, Screen Rant said that it would be very difficult to believe that CBS would take part in the massive marketing campaign of the Zack Snyder film. The network probably wouldn't allow the Batman and Superman movie to "take the spotlight" from their "Supergirl" premiere, the site said. On the other side of the coin, having Kara's big cousin flying over her season-opener could really help boost the ratings.

As for Fox and its Ben McKenzie-starred series, the Batman-specific trailer could give the impression that the show is truly running along the same vein with the rest of DC Universe shows/films.

"Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" hits the theaters March 25, 2016.
