'Battlefield 1' DLC Winter Update: Get Ribbons to Earn More XP

Fans of the popular first-person shooter video game, "Battlefield 1," cannot contain their excitement after Electronic Arts announced the huge update coming soon to the PS4, Xbox One and PC.

According to Express, the patch will arrive before the release of the "They Shall Not Pass" downloadable content, which is expected to be held this March. EA has not offered more information about the Winter Update, but the network posits it will echo the changes included in the recent Community Test Environment patch.

The Ribbons are said to be making a comeback. Players who are able to collect one will be netting a 500XP. There are 20 different ribbons to accumulate, so teamwork will be the best option to succeed.

Meanwhile, gamers will now be able to unlock an Elite Codex by getting 500 kills per weapon. A bonus of 25000 XP will also be given. With the patch, eight of the primary weapons available in the game can be unlocked.

The max rank class is also set to change. The highest will now be 50. Once a player achieves this, he will be awarded "extra nice class flair" in the kill card.

Another new feature to be added is the option to vote for the next map. After each match, gamers may select one of the two randomly selected options. The map with the most votes will be next in line to be featured in the game.

The Winter Update will also address different bugs and issues affecting vehicles, weapons or the user interface. Tank corrections will include fixing the driver's weapon visuals when using a 3p camera and some vehicle parts. As for the armaments, service stars will now be appropriately given to bayonet charge kills. There will be more time to reload in Autoloading 8, with the 2.9 seconds extended to to 3.066. Design changes in the friends list and improved menu system are some of the expected UI fixes.

Meanwhile, the "They Shall Not Pass" DLC is said to said to include all-new infantry weapons and modes. According to VG247, four new maps will be introduced. Players will also have their first look at the new Char 2C Super Heavy Tank and heavily armored St. Chamond Tank. The short-barreled Siege Howitzer is said to be the most recent addition to the game's collection of stationary weapons.
