'Battlefield 1: Turning Tides' Expansion Gameplay News: EA Provides Content Details; Teases New Maps for Exploration

Electronic Arts has recently revealed more details on what to expect from the "Battlefield 1: Turning Tides" downloadable content expansion game and when it will be released.

In the expansion game's official page, EA gave some emphasis as to how "Battlefield 1: Turning Tides" will let players "conquer land, air, and sea in the amphibious battles of the Great War."

True to that tagline, the highlights of the "Battlefield 1: Turning Tides" expansion DLC are its new maps that will bring players to a number of locations for the primary purpose of exploration in the game. However, these are still packed with first-person shooter action.

According to EA, two maps -- Cape Helles and Achi Baba -- will be arriving first as soon as "Battlefield 1: Turning Tides" goes live in December.

The Cape Helles map will be situated in "the beaches of the Gallipoli peninsula." EA teased that the map will let players go on a mission to attack the location alongside the British forces or focus on defending the walls of the Ottoman Empire.

The Achi Baba map, on the other hand, is also based on Gallipoli. However, based on EA's brief description and preview images, this one will concentrate on the inner, hilltop locations of the peninsula. The company also described its setting to be "intense, fast, and infantry-focused."

Two more maps -- Heligoland Bight and Zeebrugge -- will be released in January, and based on the preview photos, these maps are likely to focus on battles in the ocean. In fact, EA described Heligoland Bight map as "the Great War at sea."

EA specifically hinted that the Heligoland Bight map will let players experience "an epic naval clash as the British Empire Royal Marines and German Navy pit dreadnoughts, destroyers, and aircraft against each other." While all that is happening, more troops will be fighting to either defend or take over the Red Cliff.

Meanwhile, the Zeebrugge map is focused on raids led by the British forces to gain control of the Belgian port of Bruges-Zeebrugge. However, EA hinted that the mission will not be easy as players will also have to deal with "rough waves and a vast German mole as backdrop."

While some contents will be released in January, most of the "Battlefield 1: Turning Tides" expansion DLC will go live in December and includes a new class called The Infiltrator Elite Class, two new vehicles which are the L-Class Destroyer and C-Class Airship, six new guns, three new melee weapons, and more.

Then, in January, EA will introduce a new faction called the Royal Marines of the British Empire as the naval-focused maps go live around this time as well.

"Battlefield 1" is available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
