'Battlefield: Bad Company 3' Not Releasing Anytime Soon After All; Here's What's Coming Next Year Instead
It looks like "Battlefield: Bad Company 3" will not be DICE's 2018 offering after all.
Game watcher and YouTuber AlmightyDaq, who, in the past, provided accurate information about "Battlefield 1," has clarified his claims in a previous video in which he said the long-awaited threequel to the spinoff series will be the studio's next big release.
He explained that while "Battlefield: Bad Company 3" is in the works, it will not see the light of day next year. The insider also went on to say that DICE Los Angeles is in charge of putting the game together.

Formerly known as EA Los Angeles and then Danger Close Games, DICE LA was the studio behind the "Medal of Honor" series. In the "Battlefield" franchise, the developer was only tasked with helping the main DICE studio to develop post-launch content.
This makes "Battlefield: Bad Company 3" the first in the franchise that DICE LA will be spearheading. However, Eurogamer says that fans should not get their hopes up about seeing the game in the flesh anytime soon especially without the key players in the first two hits not involved.
"Battlefield: Bad Company" and "Battlefield: Bad Company 2" were released as spinoff to main hit shooter series in 2008 and 2010, respectively. Both were critically acclaimed and well-received by gamers, which is why fans have been clamoring to revisit the world since then.
While a new installment released on the 10th anniversary of the game is something that gamers would expect from EA DICE as a way to celebrate, it appears that this is not the plan at the moment. Whether or not the studio has something up its sleeve to commemorate it remains to be seen.
AlmightyDaq says that the 2018 "Battlefield" game will be set in World War 2, which comes as no surprise considering the success of the current iteration set in WW1.
