The classic animated Disney film "Beauty and the Beast" is getting a live-action remake and fans can't wait for it to hit movie theaters in 2017 already. What makes it even more exciting is Emma Watson's role in it as the smart and beautiful Belle. Fans of the "Harry Potter" star are looking forward to seeing Watson take off her Hermione Granger character for a while and put on the Disney princess role. And while updates regarding the movie have been quiet for some time, that's no longer the case now as Watson have opened up a bit about it.
According to KDrama Stars, the 25-year old actress will be singing not just one but three songs in the movie. She said during an interview with Movie'n'Co that lyricist Allan Menken wrote three fresh songs for her to sing in the live-action take of the classic tale. She also recounted that she never really tried singing before but her experience in the movie was a fun one. Luke Evans, who will be playing as Gaston, praised the young actress saying that Emma is a "triple" threat since she also has a "great singing voice." And aside from singing, the British activist also took up dancing and horse-riding lessons just to better portray her role as the bookworm and village bad-ass Belle.
Elle AU detailed that Watson considered Belle and Hermione her personal heroines. "As an actress to get to play two of your personal heroines is very unusual and quite special," she said. With regards to the story plot of the movie, she also revealed that it will slightly be different from the animated film. She said that the live-action will tackle deeper things and will tell stories that were not told in the animation. She explained that it will be "much more layered."
"Beauty and the Beast" live action movie will also star Dan Stevens as the Beast and it will be released on March 17, 2017.
