Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner Divorce: Ben to Be Blamed for the Separation?
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner have recently filed for divorce. Rumors suggest that the reason behind the couple's separation has something to do with Affleck's alleged alcoholism.
It seems the decision was mutual as the couple filed their divorce petition together, as noted by TMZ. The publication also reported that both Affleck and Garner are seeking for legal and physical custody of their kids, Violet (11 years old), Seraphina (8 years old) and Samuel (5 years old).
Although Affleck and Garner officially ended their vows only recently, the two have already called it quits two years ago. The cause of their breakup was not clear, but rumors have it that Affleck is to be blamed for the failed marriage.
Reports claim that Affleck's affair with their nanny caused the couple's breakup. Garner, however, denied this in an interview with Vanity Fair.
The "13 Going on 30" star clarified that their nanny "had nothing to do" with the divorce. She said that they have already decided to end their relationship even before the rumors came out.
With the nanny rumors refuted by Garner, new speculations have surfaced claiming that Affleck's alcohol abuse is the real cause of the two deciding to go their separate ways.
According to Pop Dust, a source who claims to be close to Garner said that one of the factors that led to the couple's divorce was Affleck's drinking problem.
It did seem like Garner still wanted to give Affleck a chance, as she didn't file for divorce while her husband was getting treatment for alcohol abuse. She was even proud of him for seeking help, the source divulged.
According to Pop Dust's source, there was not enough time left to save Garner and Affleck's marriage. "It was just too little too late," the source observed. Apparently, Garner is not giving Affleck another chance this time.
