Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner News: Sobriety Test Needed Before Actor Can Spend The Night With Their Kids

Ben Affleck might have to prove himself capable of caring for his children after reports claimed that Jennifer Garner requires him to have a sobriety test before he can spend the night with them.

A source reportedly told RadarOnline that Garner became very concerned about the current partying lifestyle of his estranged husband, which is why she needs to make sure that he is drug and alcohol free before she could allow him to have an overnight custody of their kids Violet, 11, Seraphina, 8, and Samuel, 5.

"Jen has put her foot down and says either Ben submits to drug testing — or he can forget about seeing the kids for a sleepover," a source said in an interview with the entertainment news site.

The source also claimed that the "Miracles from Heaven" actress wants to be assured that he completely let go of his partying ways. "Jen's not taking any chances. The kids come first, as always. She's giving Ben no excuses — or second chances," the informant also stated.

Affleck checked himself into a rehab facility early this year to treat his alcohol addiction, but he was reportedly spotted purchasing alcohol in Maine back in late July together with his current girlfriend, "Saturday Night Live" producer Lindsay Shookus.

While Garner is skeptic about her estranged husband's parenting skills, she still reportedly allowed her kids to spend time with his mother Christine Anne Boldt.

In late September, the actress and Affleck's mother were spotted in Brentwood, California while taking Seraphina and Samuel to school. This means that her relationship with her former in-laws was still intact despite her separation with the 45-year-old actor since June 2015.

The estranged couple announced the end of their marriage shortly after they celebrated their 10th year together, but the divorce process was just filed in April this year.
