Ben Affleck Batman Decision Sparks Online Petition of Over 15,000 Supporters

To say the decision to cast Ben Affleck as the new Batman is unpopular would be putting the amount of backlash against Warner Brothers Studios lightly because in fact, the reaction against the choice caused a formation of a petition to Warner Brothers.

After undoubtedly three classic Batman movies played by Christian Bale and directed and written by Christopher Nolan, the pair felt it was time to retire the cape together.

Now after the success of the billion dollar Batman films and the almost billion dollar Superman film, Warner Brothers decided to merge the two together to star in one film.

Henry Cavill will return as Superman, and Batman has been announced as Affleck after Bale turned down $60 million to reprise his role in the up coming and untitled Batman and Superman film.

The online petition is requiring 15,000 supporters before it could be sent to the film company, and has already reached its goal in just a few hours.

The petition reads:

To:
Warner Bros. Studio
Courtney Simmons, DC Entertainment
Paul McGuire, Corporate Communications
Jack Horner, Feature Films
Remove Ben Affleck as Batman/Bruce Wayne in the Superman/Batman movie.
Sincerely,
[Your name]

The creator of the petition, John Roden, cites a number of reasons on why Affleck should not play the role.

"His acting skill is not even close to being believable as Bruce Wayne and he won't do the role justice. He's not built, nor is he intimidating enough for the role of Batman. His portrayal of Daredevil was atrocious and he's not remotely close to an action star. Please find someone else."

Roden later updated his original response and said he had nothing against Affleck or meant any harm to his career, but firmly thought there needed to be a recasting.
