Ben & Jerry's is celebrating the its annual Free Cone Day, delighting ice cream lovers across the nation.
The ice cream company, based in Vermont, has said that it is offering a free cone ice cream to customers who visit its stores on Tuesday April 9, 2013, from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. local time.
According to various reports, it is estimated that Ben & Jerry's will be handing out more than 1 million cones for free for Free Cone Day.
"TODAY is #FreeConeDay! Find your local @benandjerrys Scoop Shop: http://www.benejrry.com," the company tweeted, sparking a wave of retweets as news spread about the give away offer.
The company has been giving away the free cones annually for Free Cone Day for 34 years, which now allows customers to choose from any of the ice cream flavors, including new flavors.
Founders Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield have held Free Cone Day since the company's first anniversary in 1979 at their Burlington, Vermont store, and has said it has no plans to stop the popular event now.
