Bethesda Games News: Developer Has One More Unannounced Title Due for Release This Year
Bethesda Softworks is already on a roll with several major ports of their biggest games arriving to VR and the Nintendo Switch later this year. However, their vice president for marketing, Pete Hines, recently confirmed that another unannounced title is set to launch in 2017 as well.
The game developer company is famous for several successful AAA titles such as "Skyrim," "Fallout," and "DOOM." The said titles will have their VR versions on Nov. 17, Dec. 12, and Dec. 1, respectively. Meanwhile, "Skyrim" is also arriving for the Nintendo Switch later this year.
A recent interview with Tek Syndicate revealed that Bethesda has more coming up, as confirmed by Hines. The Bethesda executive said in the interview: "We have a ton of stuff going on and we even have a game coming out this year that we haven't even told anybody about yet. They can wait. It won't be so long."
When Hines was further asked if it was a new intellectual property of Bethesda, he immediately refused to reveal anything else and said: "I'm not telling."
Popular Bethesda games streamer MrMattyPlays shared a snippet of the interview on his Twitter page to which Hines replied: "I probably just had a concussion from the beating I took online and was rambling. Ignore."
The said Twitter reply caused a momentary confusion among fans who thought the upcoming game was non-existent.
However, Hines quickly cleared things up and said what he told Tek Syndicate was true – they do have another unannounced game for 2017 and his Twitter reply was just intended to play a joke on MrMattyPlays. Hines reiterated: "I'm positive I knew what I was saying in the interview."
Aside from the above-mentioned games releasing this year, Bethesda at the time also confirmed the launch of the standalone expansion game "Dishonored 2: Death of the Outsider" which went live last Friday.
At their Electronic Entertainment Expo event last June, Bethesda also announced the arrival of "The Evil Within 2" and "Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus" next month.
