'Better Call Saul' season 2 updates: More 'Breaking Bad' characters to be featured

The second season of "Better Call Saul" is expected to feature some familiar characters from the series "Breaking Bad."

The successful premiere season 1 of Better Call Saul left fans excited the episodes to come. Creators Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould have started teasing audiences about what to expect from the series.

Reports showed that Better Call Saul season 2 will introduce several Breaking Bad characters. It was speculated that Giancarlo Esposito will reprise his role as Gustavo Fring. This prediction is quite likely since Saul Goodman, played by Bob Odenkirk, and Fring showed a vital connection in the Breaking Bad series. Furthermore, according to Digital Spy, the upcoming season will feature an episode that is centered around the relationship of Fring and Michael Ehrmantraut, played by Jonathan Banks.

The series has been nominated for an Emmy, which is rare for a spin-off series. Therefore, the writers and producers of the show are expected to present a better second season. Gilligan and Gould previously stated that they were unsure at first whether Breaking Bad fans will enjoy a series centered around Saul Goodman.
According to Variety, Gould had commended Bob's performance in the series. He stated, "The fact that people have embraced Bob's performance as Jimmy McGill and really gotten into this character, the audience feels the same as us, which is that we love him so much, we're a little bit sad he's going to turn into Saul Goodman. There's something tragic about the fact that this guy who is so open-hearted and essentially a decent person becomes this drug lawyer. It creates a lot of tension in the show."

It was also shared that the upcoming season will showcase the development of Jimmy McGill before he becomes his popular character Saul Goodman. The producers shared that they were planning to show his transformation into Saul Goodman in the previous season. However, they felt as if the character was not yet ready.

Better Call Saul season 2 is expected to air on Feb. 2016.
