Beverly Hills PD Starts Investigating 'Multiple' Assault Claims vs. Harvey Weinstein, James Toback

The police are now starting their investigation after hundreds of alleged victims of sexual assault by film producer Harvey Weinstein and writer James Toback came forward and detailed their harrowing experiences.

On Tuesday, the Beverly Hills Police Department issued separate releases to confirm that they have received "multiple complaints" against Weinstein and Toback. The authorities did not specify the nature of the complaints, but the documents released contained the heading "Recently Report Assaults."

In the same statements, the BHPD added: "These cases are under investigation and no further information will be released at this time."

Earlier last month, multiple women went on record and confirmed that they had allegedly been victims of sexual harassment by Weinstein. Right now, the total number of Weinstein's accusers has gone up to more than 60 and included Ashley Judd, Gwyneth Paltrow, Lupita Nyong'o, Angelina Jolie, his former assistant Zelda Perkins, Rose McGowan and a lot more.

Since all of the women's accounts against Weinstein were made public, the film producer's camp maintained that "any allegations of non-consensual sex are unequivocally denied by Mr. Weinstein."

Before BHPD's announcement this week, Weinstein had already been placed under investigation by other police departments in and out of the United States after formal complaints of assault were filed with the New York Police Department, the Los Angeles Police Department, and the Metro Police in London.

Meanwhile, BHPD is going to be the first entity to formally investigate Toback's alleged assaults. Also in October, Toback faced accusations from his alleged sexual assault victims that started from a total of 38 women and immediately grew with the addition of 200 more accusers.

Toback has aggressively denied the allegations publicly made by hundreds of women against him. In an interview with Variety, he said: "The idea that I would offer a part to anyone for any other reason than that he or she was gonna be the best of anyone I could find is so disgusting to me. ... Anyone who says that, I just want to spit in his or her f****** face."
