Beyonce Super Bowl Competition: Fans Get Chance to Star in Half Time Show
Beyonce's Super Bowl half-time show will see the singer introduced to the world by fans. An announcement by Pepsi has explained that the Grammy Award-winning artist will be unveiled to the Super Bowl crowd by winners of a special competition now open.
The Feb. 3 finale to the football season will see millions across the nation and world tune in to see the spectacle at the New Orleans' Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
Pepsi has said that it is now launching a competition on Saturday whereby fans can win the chance to take part in the biggest show on the American sporting calendar of the year.
Fans are being invited to submit photos of themselves in various poses such as head-bopping and hip-shaking. The pictures will be used by organizers of the half-time show to create a TV ad by Pepsi to be aired just prior to Beyonce's performance.
Of all the photos submitted, 50 will be chosen to come along to the Super Bowl with a friend and will get the chance to introduce the singer herself during the eagerly awaited performance.
Meanwhile, Beyonce recently announced a $50 million deal with Pepsi to appear on a limited edition set of Pepsi cans.
Knowles' deal with Pepsi will enable the Grammy Award-winning singer to star in a new television advertisement for the brand, as well as of course perform at the "Pepsi Halftime Show."
In a statement Knowles has explained why she felt the need to work with Pepsi.
"Pepsi embraces creativity and understands that artists evolve," Knowles said in the statement. "As a businesswoman, this allows me to work with a lifestyle brand with no compromise and without sacrificing my creativity."
Super Bowl half time photo contest details are available at www.pepsi.com/halftime. The contest is scheduled to end on Jan. 19, but Jan. 11 is the cutoff date for those interested in introducing Beyonce.
