'Big Bang Theory' Star Melissa Rauch Delivers Powerful Message on Prenatal Loss

"Big Bang Theory" star Melissa Rauch delivered a powerful message on prenatal loss, urging women to speak out about their heartbreak and support one another during this time of despair.

When Rauch announced her current pregnancy a few months ago, she also talked about her miscarriage earlier this year. She admitted she was hesitant to share back then, to detail such intimate moments of her life. Little did she know that multitudes of women are familiar with the same heartbreak.

After the essay was published, Rauch said that people reached out to show their support. Her story also inspired others to speak about their own losses. Gradually, with the help of this community, she started to heal. She stopped blaming herself. She learned that she should not be ashamed about it.

"What became abundantly clear from the massive cross section of women out there who have experienced this kind of personal tragedy is the importance of shedding light on this issue that is traditionally stranded in the shadows," the actress wrote. "The hope being that those who are desperate to feel less alone can in turn be alleviated of the sadness, fear, and stigma that surrounds it."

In honor of Pregnancy Loss Awareness Month, Rauch gathered a community of women who all shared their own stories about loss.

Rauch was joined by Nancy Kerrigan, Paula Garces, Loni Love, Vanna White, Lennon Parham, June Diane Raphael, Kiele Sanchez, Katie Aselton, Jill Willard, Jackie Seiden, Jean Villepique, Jennifer Chen Natalie Stromme, and Virginia Williams.

Miscarriage is said to occur in 1 of 4 confirmed pregnancies while stillbirth occurs in one of every 160 pregnancies.

For something that affects multiple women across all walks of life, there is very little attention dedicated to the matter. The aforementioned women hope to open such conversations, to reach out to fellow women who are hurting.

"You are not alone," they assured.
