Black Friday 2011: Savings Guide
ShotAtHome.com has released a new guide for shoppers looking to land the best deals on Black Friday and Cyber Monday this year.
The “2011 Black Friday/Cyber Monday Savings Guide" was complied by the website by combining survey data from more than 1,000 savvy shoppers with data from retailers. The guide offers readers key saving tips for holiday shopping.
Founder and president of the shopping website Marc Braunstein said in the press release for the savings guide, “Today, saving money on purchases by using coupons, cash back and other methods is just the cool thing to do.”
Braunstein highlighted that the traffic on his own Website proves this statement true, as traffic for the online deal site has more than doubled over the past year.
Some of the suggestions coming from the guide include directing consumers to hit the Internet right after Thanksgiving dinner as they predict companies will be offering deals earlier and earlier this year.
They also suggest that shoppers follow or “like” their favorite retailers on Twitter and Facebook because they predict that companies will likely thank their loyal customers with discounts and special offers.
Other suggestions include comparing product prices across stores, purchasing goods with gift cards, and scoping out which retailers offer the most cash back options.
For those who can not fathom missing the excitement and craziness that America’s favorite shopping day is accompanied with, shopping specialists warn shoppers to go into stores on Black Friday prepared by planning what it is they are looking for and knowing where in the store they can find it.
Other Black Friday tips include getting price assurance and double-checking that purchases on Black Friday have the same return policy as store products sold on any other day typically would.
Holiday shopping is said to comprise about 20 percent of retailers’ annual sales. Last year consumers spent an estimated $10.7 billion on gifts during the holiday season and it has been projected that holiday shopping will increase this year.
