'Black Panther' News, Release Date: Official Trailer Shows Off Wakanda's Tech, Killmonger in a Black Panther Suit
Marvel has released the official trailer for "Black Panther," the highly-anticipated superhero film starring Chadwick Boseman as the titular character.
The trailer features a more in-depth look at Wakanda, a country rich in Vibranium and the home of T'Challa. Comic book fans know that Wakanda is a very advanced country, way ahead of the rest of the world. However, the king and his people have chosen to keep their technology a secret.
"I have seen gods fly. I've seen men build weapons that I couldn't even imagine. I've seen aliens drop from the sky. But I have never seen anything like this," Everett K. Ross (Martin Freeman) tells the Wakandan king. "How much more are you hiding?"

It is also clear from the trailer that T'Challa feels conflicted about his place. He is the king of Wakanda and the Black Panther, but he does not know how he should govern his country. It can be recalled that the previous king and T'Challa's father, T'Chaka, was killed in "Captain America: Civil War."
T'Challa's enemies were also previewed in the trailer. Erik Killmonger (Michael B. Jordan), who is seen wearing a Black Panther costume, teams up with Ulysses Klaue (Andy Serkis), the smuggler who was first introduced in "Avengers: Age of Ultron." Klaue is after Wakanda's Vibranium, and it looks like Killmonger will be there to help him as he is seen busting the former out of a holding area.
As previously reported, T'Challa will have his hands full when it comes to enemies. Not only will he have to take down Killmonger and Klaue, he will also have to deal with unrest within his country. M'Baku is the leader of a Wakandan group who believes that T'Chaka was wrong to deal with the U.N. Briefly glimpsed in the trailer, M'Baku will also be against T'Challa should he continue relations with the outside world.
The trailer is packed with a lot of action and impressive technology, but fans will have to wait until next year in order to see the film. In the meantime, they can enjoy the trailer and a new poster shared by Boseman.
"Black Panther" will hit U.S. cinemas on Feb. 16, 2018.
