'Black Sails' Season 4 Episode 9: It's Flint Against the World

When one thinks about pirates, it's easy to say that the most popular thought would be about the long-running saga of "Pirates of the Caribbean," that is, until "Black Sails" aired. Set in a gritty, more serious playing field, everything is down the wire as Flint (Toby Stephens) fends for himself.

In the promotional teaser for episode 9, it looks like Flint is in a really tight spot as almost everyone is out to get him. John Silver (Luke Arnold) is cooking up a sinister plot to get him once and for all, promising everyone that if they all work against Flint, it will be a most likely victory. While this is a mismatched face-off, it will be interesting to see what happens next.

It is safe to say that treasure and power is the driving force to whatever conflict may ensue in the coming episode. The only question now is who will be controlling the threads and who emerges truly victorious despite the odds.

According to CarterMatt, there is obviously still some mystery shrouded in the teaser, and perhaps that is what makes viewers curious. What is clear to see, however, is that it won't be giving a silent, subtle sound but rather an explosive episode as it builds up the momentum for the season.

This will be the second to the last episode before the season finale, which means that the show is going to pull all the stops to make it even more interesting before drawing to a close. How it will do that is something up for speculation, though one can draw hints from other episodes.

It can be recalled that the previous episode started to give a slight tinge of horror as Skeleton Island is introduced. Whether that feeling continues on is almost sure, so the only thing left to ponder on is what form it will take, whether the death of someone or a mind-blowing twist.

"Black Sails" season 4 episode 9 airs on March 26, 9 p.m. ET on Starz.
