BlackBerry Priv Coming to T-Mobile on Jan. 26 for $719
BlackBerry Priv is coming to T-Mobile next week, and the carrier has revealed the pricing of the smartphone ahead of the release.
Starting Jan. 26, the BlackBerry Priv will be available from T-Mobile for the full retail price of $719.99. The news comes as AT&T's exclusivity on the slider phone will end this week, according to Phone Arena.
T-Mobile customers using JUMP! On Demand program can have the BlackBerry Priv for zero down payment and $34 monthly fee under an 18-month lease. Once the term ends, they can opt to either return the Priv for a new unit or pay the remaining balance to retain the device, the report details.
Qualified customers can also purchase the Priv for zero down payment and $30 monthly payments for 24 months, the report adds.
The Priv has gained attention for resurrecting the physical keyboard in the form of a slider attached to an Android device. For those who are not fond of the feature, a virtual on-screen keyboard is also available. BlackBerry claims that the device has a high level of security as its name is derived from "privacy," Android Authority reports.
The BlackBerry Priv boasts of a 5.4-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. The device runs the Snapdragon 808 processor with a hexa-core 1.8GHz CPU. In addition, it also uses the Adreno 418 GPU and has 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage expandable up to 2 TB via microSD slot, the report relays.
Aside from that, the new BlackBerry sports an 18-megapixel rear snapper with optical image stabilization and a 2-megapixel front camera. It is powered by a 3,410 mAh battery and the Android 5.1 operating system. Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow will reportedly be rolled out on the device before March 2016.
The BlackBerry Priv will also be available on Verizon and Sprint after T-Mobile begins selling the device.
