'Blackwood Crossing' Release Date News: Indie Game to be Launched First Week of April
PaperSeven has recently announced that its newest narrative adventure video game, "Blackwood Crossing," will be released this April.
According to the developer's official Twitter account, the official launch will take place on April 4 for the PlayStation 4 and on April 5 for the Xbox One and PC. The site Worth Playing mentions that "Blackwood Crossing" will sell at $15.99 in the U.S. market.
The game's narrative will follow the drama taking place between two siblings, Scarlet and Finn, as they navigate life without their parents, who died in a car accident. Orphaned at an early age, the brother and sister have no one but each other. Scarlet is a teen verging on adulthood, while Finn is a lively 10-year-old.

The setting of the game is an old school train speeding past a quaint English countryside. The theme will revolve around the growing distance between the two protagonists as the elder undergoes the transition from being a child to an adult.
The indie studio announced its intention to create "Blackwood Crossing" in 2016. Its genre is pretty much the same as other first-person adventure exploration games like The Fullbright Company's "Gone Home" and The Chinese Room's "Dear Esther."
Alice Guy, head of studio at PaperSeven, recently told PC Games that they have worked hard to develop the characters of Scarlet and Finn. Aside from the game aesthetics, she said they invested a lot in the poignant connection between the siblings. The facial expressions and emotional responses included in each scene were methodically and lovingly crafted. This, she said, makes "Blackwood Crossing" different from other usual narrative-driven games.
"We came up with a number of different ideas for each character and then honed that down into what made most sense for them, both individually and then as siblings. We worked really hard to bring that sibling bond to fruition and to make it believable. We also worked with Side UK to get really strong voice actors for them and I think that really brings them both up a level. We worked really hard with the story and dialogue to make them feel believable as siblings," Guy said.
"Blackwood Crossing" will be available on different platforms this April.
