Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert divorce rumors latest: Post-Split, Shelton says, 'We're buddies'
While fans of country's most popular and power couple still grieve over the split that was announced in July, Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert are trying to move on as friends in the most peaceful and amicable way possible.
According to Shelton in an interview on the Bobby Bones Show, they both decided to accept the split and move on peacefully. "Our whole thing was: You know, we're just going to be cool about this," he said, adding that the two were "buddies."
The Hollywood country royal couple shocked fans when they announced their divorce after four years of marriage and 10 years of being together, and according to Shelton, both of them decided to keep their split a secret and only broke the sad news to their fans when the paperwork was all done.
"Miranda and I didn't have any kids, and we have our prenuptial agreement, whatever we had. Once we filed for divorce, it was over in a nine- or ten-day waiting period," he said.
The pair have been under the fire for some years as several reports suggested that their marriage was actually on the rocks and the two were just trying to look cool in front of the cameras.
Known for his jokes, Shelton also mentioned that he had fun pulling a prank on paparazzi when he walked out of The Voice set with a baby stroller, a prank that paparazzi took ever too seriously.
The country sensation is back to work as a judge for The Voice, and after celebrating five years of being a Grand Ole Opry member, the hot issue is that he is not yet ready for another serious relationship.
A source told People that "he's open to another relationship in the future, but just not now," adding that the 39-year-old has decided to just focus on himself for now.
