Following the unexpected transformation of Lille Barro in the last chapter of "Bleach 646," Shunsui is left in probably the worst situation he has ever been, and along with speculation that he may be dead, fans are raising predictions as to what will happen in the next issue.
According to Yibada, now that Shunsui is face-to-face with death in the hands of Lille Barro, there is only one way for him to be resurrected and that is to awaken his Bankai, which is said to "cover a wide area, but for what it actually does is still a complete mystery."
It is worth noting that there is no certainty just yet if Shunsui was directly hit with shots from Lille's new set of wings that have the ability to fire a round of shots in an instant. However, the manga's last panel saw Shunsui stumbling, which could mean he was definitely shot.

Manga experts and fans are raising several discussions on Reddit, focusing on what could possibly be Shunsui's last resort for survival. Reddit user Kr4d105s2_1 revealed in his account what he thinks "647" will reveal, and in his plot prediction, Shunsui will utter the words "Fukumen Kyokotsu is a nasty mistress but plays a simple game. He who risks the most and throws his life on the line wins the battle."
Some Reddit users commented that this could mean Shunsui's Bankai will incur god-like powers just as Lille has, which is the only way for him to escape the fangs of death. One user suggested that Nanao may be injured in the process of Shunsui's awakening of his Bankai.
None of the predictions have been confirmed, but fans are already heated up and anticipating if any of their insights may be revealed in the installment that will most probably see creator Tite Kubo keeping his word that he won't erase a main character as appealing as Shinsui just like that.
