'Blindspot' Season 1 Spoilers: Romance Is In the Air; 'Hannibal' Star Joins the Cast
A new face is expected to join the upcoming return of the NBC series "Blindspot."
After the midseason finale of the new series, it was reported that "Blindspot" became the highest-rated show in the United States. With that, fans are anticipating for its return.
It was revealed that Aaron Abrams, from the series "Hannibal," will be playing a role in the second half of "Blindspot" season 1. As reported by Entertainment Weekly, his character will be working as the rival of Zapata, played by Audrey Esparza. Although it was said to be a recurring role, the name of his character has yet to be released.
It was reported that Abram's character, who is a U.S. attorney, will be getting involved with Zapata. With that, fans can expect that romance will be present in the episodes to come. However, fans are wondering just how well their potential relationship will go.
Aside from a new romance, a past romance will also take the center stage in the upcoming return of the series. It was reported that the series will delve deeper into the relationship of Jane Doe, played by Jaimie Alexander, and Kurt Weller, played by Sullivan Stapleton. The previous episode of the series saw the two kissing.
However, the executive producer of the series, Martin Gero, hinted that their relationship will soon complicate, especially after Jane's ex-love interest, Oscar, had joined the picture. According to Variety, he stated, "Oscar will really complicate things for Jane. And it's less Oscar complicating things and more this new knowledge of herself. It's gonna make her extraordinarily uneasy, as you can imagine - it comes as quite a shock to her, and basically, she's trying to realign her entire worldview after tonight."
"Blindspot" season 1 will return to NBC on Feb. 29, 2016.
