'Blindspot' Season 3 Spoilers: Premiere to Focus on Jane and Weller, According to Series Creator Martin Gero
"Blindspot" will debut its second season with a special "Jeller" episode.
Many fans have been shipping Jane (Jamie Alexander) and Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) since the series began in 2015. Speaking with TVLine, series creator Martin Gero said the season 3 premiere will delight viewers who want to see the two characters reunite again.
"The first episode back is going to be the most fulfilling 'Jeller' episode we've ever done," he teased. "They are in love, there's a very good reason they haven't seen each other in a while and Weller's been searching for her."
"Jeller" may not be the only romance taking the spotlight this season. Gero also hinted the possibility of exploring a romantic storyline involving Agents Reade (Rob Brown) and Zapata (Audrey Esparza).
Season 2 of the hit NBC series wrapped up with a two-year time jump after the team defeated Shepherd (Michelle Hurd). After finding Jane, Weller gave her a box with a metal plaque that reveals a second layer of tattoos when touched to Jane's skin.
Last week, it was announced that "Shades of Blue" Kristina Reyes will appear in the series for a recurring role. She will portray Avery, a socialite who has a troubled past. Reyes' character will enter the picture when she crosses paths with Weller. More details about Avery have yet to be revealed but the part is reportedly important for the story. Reyes will make her "Blindspot" debut in episode 5.
Reyes joins season 3 newcomer Tori Anderson. She has been tapped to play the recurring character of Blake, an attractive socialite who becomes a close friend to Roman (Luke Mitchell). Gero previously teased that Blake could be a potential love interest for Roman.
"Blake is an incredibly smart and charming business woman and sparks fly when she meets Roman for the first time," Gero shared.
The third season of "Blindspot" premieres Friday, Oct. 27, at 8 p.m. EDT on NBC.
