According to iDigital Times, customers can now buy the game on Amazon for $34.99, but its exclusive release at Barnes and Noble is scheduled for March. Upon purchase, buyers will receive a total of 30 constructions cards to work on. There are three levels of difficulty to choose from and each player have 20 blocks and a boomer/platform to use.

At the start of the game, a card is drawn by the players and they will race to build the plans as indicated. The first one to finish will yell, "BOOM" and hit the dynamite blast pad placed near the platforms. The Boomer smash will cause the opponent's tower to topple, effectively ending the game. If the structure looks exactly the same as the blueprint, the one who built it will earn a point. The game commences again once the players choose another card to refer to. The first builder to get 10 points will win.

Reviews describe "Build or BOOM" as a fun interactive game suitable for both kids and adults. The pieces included in the package are said to be high quality and easy to stack. The construction cards are complex enough, but still workable for young children. For those adventurous ones, they may opt to create their own blueprint. The platform is small, but this poses as a challenge for players to stack carefully or else, the building will collapse on its own.

In a recent interview with Blasting News, inventor Tanner Yarro talked about his inspiration if creating the board game. According to him, his three-year old niece's love for smashing the block towers he built inspired him to create something she will enjoy at her age.

"My interest in designing games came from my love of playing games! I've always looked for games with fun innovative play styles that make kids and adults giggle, and it was only a matter of time before I'd played them all and needed something new!" Yarro shared.
