Bob Weinstein Net Worth, News 2017: Film Producer Accused of Sexual Harassment Following Allegations Against Brother
Bob Weinstein, who has a net worth of $300 million, thanks to The Weinstein Company and his long list of producing credits, has been accused of sexually harassing Amanda Segel, showrunner of Spike TV's "The Mist." This comes after several allegations against his brother, Harvey,
Numerous women have come forward accusing Harvey of sexual harassment. Among his accusers are Hollywood A-listers like Angelina Jolie, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Beckinsale, Heather Graham, and Cara Delevingne. According to The New York Times, Harvey Weinstein also paid actress Rose McGowan in 1997 as part of a settlement after an incident in a hotel room during the Sundance Film Festival.
Now, Segel is claiming that Bob Weinstein also came onto her during the production of "The Mist," accusing him of sexual harassment. A representative for Bob Weinstein issued a statement to the same publication and denied the claim.
"Bob kept referring to me that he wanted to have a friendship. He didn't want a friendship. He wanted more than that," Segel told Variety. "My hope is that 'no' is enough from now on."
Bob Weinstein's lawyer, Bert Fields, also told Deadline that they are in possession of emails disproving the allegations. "There is no way in the world that Bob Weinstein is guilty of sexual harassment, and even if you believed what this person asserts there is no way it would amount to that," Fields said.
The Weinstein Company already fired Harvey Weinstein after his sexual harassment scandal came to light. Bob Weinstein later admitted in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that he knew about his brother's behavior, but only to a certain extent.
"I actually was quite aware that Harvey was philandering with every woman he could meet," he said. "I was sick and disgusted by his actions. But that's the extent of what [I knew]."
