'BoJack Horseman' Season 4 Spoilers: BoJack Finds New Family; Is She Really His Daughter?

One of the main storylines in "BoJack Horseman" season 4 is when the titular protagonist, voiced by Will Arnett, gets to meet a new character who claims to be his daughter.

On Sept. 8, season 4 of Netflix's animated series "BoJack Horseman" premiered and picked up right where season 3 had ended. Fans may recall that in the last scenes of season 3, the young horse girl who resembled BoJack was shown trying to reach the struggling actor.

The girl was introduced in season 4's early episodes and she is named Hollyhock Manheim-Mannheim-Guerrero-Robinson-Zilberschlag-Hsung-Fonzerelli-McQuack (Aparna Nancherla) – a teenage horse adopted by eight men in a polyamorous relationship which explains her lengthy last name.

With Todd's (Aaron Paul) help, Hollyhock finds BoJack – who quietly returned from escaping to Michigan for more than a year – in the latter's trashed mansion. After a few days of Hollyhock pretending as a house maid, a DNA test concluded that the samples from Hollyhock and BoJack match.

Hollyhock then convinced BoJack to help her find her mother, which would not be easy given BoJack's way with women. However, along the way, the teenager convinced BoJack to regularly visit her aging mother, Beatrice (Wendie Malick), who is now suffering from dementia.

Since Hollyhock and BoJack started visiting Beatrice Horseman, the old woman calls BoJack by the name Henrietta – a character that would only make sense in the latter episodes.

As BoJack spends more time with Hollyhock, he starts to develop the fatherly affection – and becomes overprotective at one point – something which he did not think he was capable of doing.

BoJack, Hollyhock, and Beatrice (and her nurse bear) are starting to have a good time as they lived under one roof when BoJack discovered, after Hollyhock was brought to the hospital, that her mother had been secretly overdosing Hollyhock with slimming pills and its side effects harmed her.

Hollyhock's eight dads were mad at BoJack for what happened and decided the girl was better off without him. However, losing Hollyhock persuaded BoJack to do his best to find out who her real mother is. Scouring papers from hospitals and court houses in Los Angeles to track down Hollyhock's adoption led him to the reality that Hollyhock was not his daughter – but his half-sister.

It turned out, Henrietta was a former maid in the household of BoJack's family when he was younger. Henrietta and BoJack's father started a relationship and the young lady became pregnant and that child would be Hollyhock.

Henrietta was convinced by Beatrice to give up her baby and go on with her life and finish her studies to become a nurse.

Season 4 ended with Hollyhock calling BoJack to let him know she is on her way to Minneapolis to meet her mother, Henrietta. During their phone conversation, Hollyhock told BoJack: "I told you from the beginning, I have eight dads. But... I've never had a brother."

And for the first time, "BoJack Horseman's" season finale ended on a happy note.
