'Bond 25' Release Date, Plot: Elon Musk to Design a Space Rocket?
The next James Bond movie could feature a contribution from Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk. Reports reveal that he's building a space rocket that Daniel Craig will use in "Bond 25."
Musk apparently said he is building a technologically-advanced ride for the new James Bond movie and Craig is on board the plan. The new film will supposedly have futuristic elements, thus Musk is part of the production.
"Bond needs to keep up with the times and will be looking into Elon Musk's world – spacecraft, planes that can fly across the earth in an hour, cars turning into submarines," a source revealed. "That's what we need to include now."
Musk himself owns a memorabilia from an earlier Bond movie, "The Spy Who Loved Me." He originally planned on turning the secret agent's Lotus Esprit vehicle into a submarine but he learned that its design was not suitable as a car-sub.
Meanwhile, Craig reportedly wants Monica Bellucci back for "Bond 25." The actress was in the 2015 film "Spectre" as Lucia Sciarra but she spent minimal time on screen.
Craig wants the Italian actress' involvement to be longer in the upcoming 25th movie. It's unclear, however, if Bellucci is already in talks with producers to join the said film, which will begin production in 2018.
"Bond 25" will be the fifth Bond movie for Craig, who earlier announced he wanted to retire from the franchise. The actor, however, agreed to return because it's going to be a milestone for the iconic James Bond.
"Bond 25" is not yet the official title of the milestone flick. No director has been attached to the project for now, but Craig also allegedly said he wants "Blade Runner 2049" director Denis Villeneuve at the helm.
"I cannot talk about that," Villeneuve said when reports surfaced that he's directing the next Bond movie. "But let's say that for me to do a Bond movie would be a deep, deep pleasure."
"Bond 25" has been set for a 2019 theater release date. Further details to the casting and potential plot has been kept hush-hush.
