While at the CDC, the team discovers a hidden message on Jane's body that uncovers a plot that could have catastrophic global consequences. Meanwhile, Jane (Jaimie Alexander) and Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) grow closer."

In this episode of "Blindspot" Jane's tattoos are again the centre of attention. They first lead the team to conclude that a plot is being hatched for biological warfare. Then the team goes to the CDC in an attempt to stop this world-wide plot of destruction by biological means.

The Jane-Weller relationship is playing out in the background. In the previous episode, things got intense when it was revealed that Jane could be 'Taylor Shaw', Weller's neighbour and childhood friend who had disappeared 25 years ago. Weller is still searching for her.

Series creator Martin Gero spoke with Variety on the arc of Jane-Weller relationship. He said, "The show, especially the first season of it, is really about Weller and Jane. Not only who did this to her and why, but also [for them to learn] how to be around each other."

He elaborates that seeing each other again will mean different things for the two. For Jane, it will bring her closer to discovering her identity and what happened to her. For Weller, he might have finally found the girl he spent 25 years looking for, so naturally, he will have a lot of questions that need to be answered.

Gero also hinted that nothing in the season will be as it seems. Just because it is shown that Jane Doe is Taylor Shaw, the mystery is her past as she has suddenly surfaced after 25 years. Viewers will be kept guessing what must have happened to her and why.
